Introducing The Wilu. It takes its name from the Wilunyu word for ocean — a presence that has shaped life, story, and movement for thousands of years. For Aboriginal people, the ocean is more than water… it’s a living system of connection, rhythm, and quiet power. This brush draws from that — calm on the surface, with depth that runs far beneath it.
At the base, a white paper daisy rests gently — simple, resilient, and grounded in the Australian landscape. From there, the brush flows into deep ocean blues, layered with subtle shimmer that catches the light like shifting tides. The crown finishes in a clean, pristine white — like sea foam rolling in and disappearing just as softly.
True to my approach, the shape is simple and made to sit naturally in the hand. No excess, no noise — just something that feels right the moment you pick it up.
Every part of this brush has been made by me. I grew and dried the flower, poured the resin, chose each element, and turned it on the lathe until it found its final form. At the base, a FUKO coin is set in — a quiet mark of where it came from.
It’s a piece that carries a sense of rhythm… steady, grounded, and always moving — just like the ocean itself.
