Handcrafted with care on the shores of Emerald Beach, NSW, Australia, this one-of-a-kind shaving brush handle is more than just a tool — it’s a tribute. Inspired by the Wunyju Banal, or Aboriginal smoking ceremony, this piece honours the profound connection between people, land, and spirit. And for once in a long time this shaving brush does not have a flower.

The brush brings together the four sacred elements through a visual and tactile journey:
Earth, rooted in a stunning piece of brown mallee burl at the base — rich in character, history, and form, it’s the first spark, the first fish. With natural voids, it invites you to peer inside, revealing smoke-like swirls that rise in a graceful spiral. This smoking core—taking up three-fifths of the handle—dances like a tornado in mid-ceremony, evoking the cleansing ritual itself.
Finally, the upper fifth transitions to blue swirls floating on translucent white, evoking water — cool, flowing, and open.

The simple, fluid shape of the handle allows these elements to speak for themselves. No distractions, just a purity of form that reflects the essence of the brush: less is more. Its subtle curves and balanced proportions ensure it rests naturally in your hand, offering both comfort and control with every shave.

This handle is a meditation on balance, renewal, and connection. In Aboriginal culture, smoking ceremonies use native plants to produce cleansing smoke — believed to ward off negative energy, purify people and places, and bring spiritual and physical wellbeing. This brush echoes that intent, grounding each shave in a deeper story of respect, land, and ritual.

Every line, every swirl, every choice in material is intentional. Handmade by the artist in Emerald Beach, this is more than a shaving brush — it's a conversation between culture, craftsmanship, and the elements.

This hand crafted handle took just under 3 hours to complete.

This handle is bored for a 26mm knot.
